I think Danny on the TARDIS would be very different than Rory. At the end of the day all the companions, Rory included, admire the Doctor and follow his orders. It's quite clear that Danny dislikes the Doctor and is quite through with following orders leading to a very different dynamic.

I think the forced urgency was part of the point.

The doctor is always driven by scientific curiosity. They go to see black holes or watch stars go nova. Even the previous episode they went to explore a historical period and throughout the Doctor was both motivated by, and testing, a scientific hypothesis (Robin Hood is a myth).

Perhaps Mark sought them out on his own or as part of a military intelligence operation.

I don't know what show you were watching but I'm pretty sure Oberyn sailed back to Dorne to celebrate his vengeance with a mixed gender harem.

Yeah, I loved The Mountain and the Viper. Especially the awesome fight scene at the end where Oberon won by stabbing the Mountain a bunch of times. Unfortunately I had to take a phone call so missed Oberon's full celebration.

Stannis still needs a massive army to take King's Landing.

So magic fireball throwing kiddie and ancient all-seeing raven dude.

That's about spoiling the TV show.

To be honest the list of big guys who are GoT quality actors and can do a great fight scene is pretty long. The list of 6'3 women who can do the same is probably pretty short.

Arya already watched her father die, the Hound was her second father figure and she simply didn't want to kill him or watch him die. Her walking away from the Hound was her abandoning the list.

I think Tywin was right about one thing, Shae really was a whore.

It signified the alarm. I'd like to think that Tyrion didn't screw that up and Tywin did drop pretty fast, if nothing else he's at least going to be out of commission for a while.

The Hound may have realized the aunt being dead meant Littlefinger was in charge. Not someone you want to hand a young girl who's also a powerful bargaining chip too.

Secondary sympathetic character gets unexpectedly and pointlessly killed in the presence of a main character forcing the main character to step up. Pyp's demise was pretty conventional.

I do appreciate the way it raises the stakes though. I think there's a bit of complacency that Tryion will survive because he's such a major good guy character. But at this point I do legitimately wonder if he'll get whacked.

I didn't think of it as grandstanding.

In that case I'm cheering for Hodor to end up on the iron throne.

Though Selmy hasn't really played the adviser role yet and seems content to play Queen's guard. It seems like more of a personal thing to me. Selmy's priority is protecting Dani. He was probably nervous about a disgraced nobleman being that close to her before, now that he's a confirmed former spy, he simple wants
