I got to say that the battle was very small-scale (I know it's TV and I know it was only a battle in King's Landing). The fighting was basically relegated to one location. Everything was very dark. There were no shots showing scale (aside from the ships).

That's what I was thinking. Now he has to sit though scar makeup every time they shoot. Had they cut off a finger or two they could've disguised it with gloves or something.
