@RegularGonzalez:disqus - I don't recall anyone saying it was the "crime of the century" that somebody was making a profit when you bought a CD.  The problem WAS that the labels were making all the profit and the artists were slaving away under contracts which left them with little hope of ever becoming solvent.

@PhonyPope:disqus - I mentioned it elsewhere in here, but project creators on Kickstarter are legally obligated to provide the rewards that people paid for, or provide refunds if they're unable to do so.  I agree that collection on such a refund would probably be more trouble than it's worth for most people, if

Er, right.  So for me, and people like me: pre-orders and Kickstarter and buying music before you hear it, in general, continues to be great.  For everyone else, just wait until it's on bandcamp/amazon/wherever and listen before you buy, right?
