I think Don does have a genuine affection for Roger, who helped become the toast of Madison Avenue he is today, as evidenced in the 1950s flashbacks last season.  Sure, while Don is constantly appalled by Roger's behaviour and there is constant unease in their friendship, he has not forgotten who gave him a break.

I predict Peggy will be back at SCDP by the start of season six, realising how much of a douchebag Ted Chaugh is, that 'the grass isn't necessarily greener' and finally give in to Don's persistent attempts to hire her back, on her own terms of course.

Pete's like Dorian Gray, but he visibly wears the results of his transgressions and debauchery instead of the painting in the cupboard.

It wasn't explicit, but in one episode,  a secretary told Don that a friend of Bethany Van Nuys he had met at the theatre had dropped off her resume.  This happened just before Megan started at SCDP.  I joined the dots and assumed it was her, otherwise it would not have warranted a mention in the show.

I don't quite agree with you that Megan LIED about wanting to be a copywriter, I would say Megan's circumstances have drastically changed in the year that have passed since she expressed such copywriter aspirations to Don.

Where I come from, the 'A&P' is an agricultural trade fair, so I initially thought Kinsey had tried his hand at being a farmer.  Not being American, I had no idea it was a grocery store.

I'm guessing Roger wasn't *at* Pearl Harbor for the attack, but like many others of the Greatest Generation, the Pearl Harbor attack was the event that prompted him to enlist, shaping the next few years of his life and the worldview he carries with him in the present day (hostility towards Japanese people, etc).
