There was a terrible schism in Indycar racing at the time; CART teams didn't race in the Indy 500 in 2001.

If we're just hyping the venues, the Tabernacle in Atlanta is nice. It's a 100-year old Baptist church that was converted into a performance venue for the 1996 Olympics. It's got a chandelier and stained glass windows, and the floor wobbles like crazy when you get the crowd dancing.

We're definitely losing the war on drugs if Big Pharma using the Super Bowl as platform to say, "not everyone is a heroin addict, but if you are, here's a drug that will make you go to the bathroom."

That guy did not look like he was in constant pain requiring an opioid regimen, and the lady at the end looked like she was still constipated.

The song choice distracted me, because all it made me think of was Ken Lee.

You mean, outside of convincing Larry Holmes he was a worthy title challenger?

Your brother is friends with Vinnie Johnson?

Incidentally, Howard Hughes' penthouse was at the Desert Inn, which was torn down so that the Wynn could be built on the same site.

I'm fine with Hillary as the Democratic nominee, but I'm glad that Bernie's showing means it's less likely the Clinton camp will push the party's platform into the mushy middle for the general campaign.

How many fingers in the ass is enough to gain your attention?

Anal penetration is by no means universal among gay men, but receiving oral sex basically is; we should start gay-bashing any straight guy who says he likes blowjobs.

I went on a Hank Marvin binge for a while in the late 2000s after listening to a college radio show that consisted only of surf rock and outlaw country songs, then reading a web article about the ubiquitous covering and sampling of "Apache."

Although I wouldn't give any record Franz Ferdinand has released a grade under B-minus, a threshold Bloc Party hasn't surpassed on any of their last three albums.

If you were a British band at that moment in time, you had to include an anti-Blair track on your record. "Price of Gas" isn't the worst of them.

Alien Jesus believes in intelligent design.

Not in 1920.

I'm not a fan of Thousand Island-style sauces on hamburgers, so I'm not sure I'd vouch for In-N-Out. I'm a ketchup-and-mustard man.

I'm not going to defend Arctic Monkeys: I always thought they were crap.

I would be tempted, then, to say that maybe it would have been better if Bloc Party was laid to rest, and this could be judged as Kele and Russell's own thing without the baggage of the past.

You're projecting your own opinion on that one. I was going to hold Franz Ferdinand as an example of how a band can continue to evolve without breaking the fundamentals of that raw sound. They still deliver the goods.
