Fat Lizzy - yeah, I should have clarified that. Good point. And disc rot sucked. I unloaded my entire LD collection back when I could still get some coin for them before DVD totally took over. I kept some of the Criterions, but later sold those off as well.

DVD and especially Blu-Ray are superior. Laserdiscs has analog picture - that wasn't much better than a brand new VHS tape, except it didn't deterioate with multiple viewings. The sound was always fine, just fine.
