JVS, our tastes align yet again. FHTI is hands-down the most badass Alkaline Trio album ever. I really lost interest with everything after that and was truthfully surprised to see them get bigger with lesser albums.

Nathan - I dig that Happy/Sad music… Gin Blossoms embodied that perfectly. Hopkins was a master… there's a cool article written about him by one of his friends at Metro Times (linked from Hopkins' Wiki entry) if you're interested. It's kind of a bummer but there's some light in it.

I think he gets good sounds in the studio, but man, something goes horribly wrong in the mixing/overcompressing stage. Let that shit breathe, dude!
