Can't remember if it's in the other list (and don't feel like checking), but Nirvana outright lifted the awesome bassline from The Killing Joke's "Eighties" for "Come As You Are." I am 99% sure, though, that Nirvana ended up paying/sharing royalties with Killing Joke on that one.

I remember when that Offspring album came out and thinking that Lennon/McCartney must have gotten writing credit, but I never checked. I'm assuming based on your comment that they didn't, eh? You're right, it is the exact same song.

I am still in shock with how good Eddie George was. "Natural" is a perfect description - the dude was so comfortable and even when the Commissioner was about to crack, Eddie kept a straight face. What a pleasant surprise.

I appreciate your allegiance and love of punk, but I don't think Blink 182 intentionally repackaged punk in a "Hot Topic" form, i.e. to commercialize a style of music solely to make money off it. I think these guys liked a style of music but wanted to sing about things personally meaningful to them. They seemed true

I just popped on to Netflix to watch "Good-bye" again. So damn good (as is the entire arc as you mentioned) and still kicks my butt each time. Agreed, this show really was great for most of its run.

Yes, it's a good show, particularly in the early seasons. If you want to know if you'll like it, try the first episode or my favorite, "Good-bye," about Kevin and his math teacher. I can appreciate that some people see the show as too sappy or maudlin or too based in nostalgia, but I disagree and think the show does

I was thrilled by that cameo, too. His voice and delivery are so darn good. A shame they can't use Kroll's newfound fame and possible pull to get that show back on the air. I hope they do work together again since they both have such awesome comic timing and delivery.

On the positive side, they're getting Willow Smith to write it. You know it'll be a fresh take because she didn't even bother to see the first - she's only watched movies she's made since she was 5 years old.

Seriously, back in the day, you could put this on a mixtape to anyone - your cool friend or as a sappy sentiment to your girlfriend - and it would work. The genuine feeling of the song really makes it timeless to me.

Sure it's already been said, but a Tonight Show needs a U2 like a Bono needs a bicycle.

However, he LOVED 227! That Jackee is feisty!

I'm sure someone already mentioned it, but the best moment of the entire series so far was, "WHAT'S ALTRUISM?!?!"

I've always been overly-sentimental when it comes to pop culture (It's A Wonderful Life is my favorite movie), but now being a dad to two little kids has pushed me to a new level. Any movie, book, or tv show where a child is separated from his/her parents or injured/killed just absolutely devastates me. It's somehow

Newhart was the best.

One of my all-time favorite movies and solidified Tony Leung as one of my favorite actors. In addition, the music really did work very effectively in the film - I love that version of "Dreams" so much I recorded it to tape so i could listen to it in the car (this was before your mp3s, kids). WKW absolutely killed it

Attended a "How To Overcome Depression" seminar led by Gene Simmons.

He wears pants with tapered legs so they're much narrower at the bottom and can't survive the greater percentage change in size.

"Holiday in Catbodia" was the b-side.

Well, Simmons puts the final two letters in KISS: Keep It Simple, Stupid.

Seriously, I was so pleased to read an official statement with "dickhead" in it. I am now leaving the USA to go work for Triple M in Australia, and I will listen to "Shout At The Devil" on my headphones the entire trip.
