So, how about we do this:
1- Disqualify Adam Sandler from winning his own award
2- Name the award the "Adam Sandler Underachievement in a Cinematic Kinescope Show". Yes, that's "Adam SUCKS" for short.

I LOVE The Beatles but was never able to get in to this film. I'd rather watch Magical Mystery Tour, which was painfully bad. I love the idea of the movie, but it never quite reached the place it was trying to get to. Speaking of art built around The Beatles, I would much rather someone wrote "Grey Girls", the…
Shouldn't future slots be reserved for the Adam Sandler film that comes out in that year? Or maybe give the "Adam Sandler Award" for continued suckitude? I'm sure someone's created that somewhere, actually…
Damn if I don't love me some Copper Blue. I still revisit it regularly and can't help but bounce around to "If I Can't Change Your Mind…" Hoover Dam is a badly underappreciated song, too, so this is a nice move to celebrate it. Thanks, AV Club!
If Monty Python ran the world, we wouldn't have this problem. Actually, having watched Michael Palin's shows ("4 Corners" and the other) it is obvious he is a well-educated, open-minded guy. I assume all the others are, too, since their comedy points out the absurdity in the world.
To paraphrase, "And now with this…
Apparently, every Muslim I've never met is a potential (read: certain) enemy! At least, according to some Christians in Florida…
I loved the misdirection right at the start where Homer began to do the "I wonder what my life…" after mentioning It's A Wonderful Life and then cutting it off in the same sentence. Overall, a good episode and some sweet moments tucked away here and there.
I was more impressed by Flansy's 'stache than the AV Club choir. Oh well.
Hate to say it, but I'll stick with the "studio" version of Tubthumping…
Good point, Crow. I just thought Shawn seemed to be in a little more trouble than that, but Gus saw that Shawn'd just get knocked around, so I agree with your take on the fight. Thanks.
Maybe the writers are getting tired of crazy Gus, too, and will ground him a little more in the (near) future. Maybe bring back a…
Hmm. Your ideas are intriguing to me and I wish to subscribe to your newsletter.
I enjoyed the episode more than most (based on the review and comments so far), but I will have to agree that Gus was written poorly in this one. Getting so in to the girl that he dove in to the commune ideals (and then instantly popped out at the end) and leaving Shawn hanging during the fight didn't seem to fit the…
Haven't bothered to look this up, but will the Whigs be doing any other shows? Any warm-up shows in LA or Cincy or somewhere? Or thoughts on a tour after the ATP shows? I haven't seen them in concert in years (1998?) and they put on one of the most energetic shows you can catch. Nothing like "Superstition" flowing…
God?
You should come to my house. I remember in the late 80s, my dad put on Dark Side of the Moon while we were eating Thanksgiving dinner. Go figure…
Yes, the original Pee Wee stage show was for adults but it was both a parody and homage to shows from our childhood. It tapped in to that same thing that Krusty's did so I though the joke was spot on.
Gotta admit that I laughed throughout, but I had a very big laugh at the Krusty line ending in "Circus of Shame." That line could have shown up during the glory days of The Simpsons.
Gotta admit that after I watched this, I was psyched to come on here and see the "A" it was given since it was so awesome. Totally baffled by the C+. I don't understand the critique of it. This episode fit perfectly with the characters - they will abandon anyone who can't help their cause and crap all over anyone…
As a "grown-up" during this show's entire run, I found the show very funny with some nice personal, dramatic moments. I thought the show played absurd so well that it's smaller, more real moments had that much more effect. The writers did a good job playing the two against each other. I might not remember it…
I loved the joke about Turk appearing twice in the college brochure. The sad thing is that was based on Wisconsin's college brochure (pretty sure it was Wisconsin) not too long before that that showed the same dude in the stands twice. Truth stranger than fiction and all that.
