Good point, not_Bridget. I'd forgotten that he was an acceptable mate for Mary, who can barely be 2-3 years older than Edith, but totally unacceptable to Edith (especially since, as Edith pointed out, a lot of the potential suitors her age were killed in the war). I actually liked the Edith/Anthony storyline in

I usually herald Dockery's acting as the best on the show (aside from Maggie Smith's, of course), but Mary has been really annoying in this whole will-we-get-money-from-that-guy-we-met-a-few-times storyline. She's petulant at best and whiny at worst, and when you throw in Matthew's self-righteous mewling, their scenes

Agreed. Tommy Lee Jones was great, but it really felt like he was just playing Tommy Lee Jones in a funny wig. I thought Spader was a real standout in "Lincoln;" granted, he was essentially Allan Shore with a gut and an accent, but he was my favorite part of that movie. Straithairn is always welcome, too, in just

Maybe the magical Ouiji board will reemerge and help him see the light. Or he'll just stop being melodramatic and accept the damn money, I hope.

Exactly. He was a total dick tonight. It was annoying. He was asked to wear a fancy coat to a formal wedding and acted like they'd asked him to clean the gym floor with a toothbrush.

Put me in the anti-Bates category. He's a total snooze, and his scenes with Anna aren't that interesting, either (though I love that she's the blonde sister Mary really wanted). I REALLY hope that we learn that he did, indeed, kill his wife, even if he regrets it and it was just a fit of passion, because it would at

I was also preturbed by how Matthew and Mary managed to NOT fight about something so worthy of a fight. I continue to find Branson to be ultra creepy—especially when he held his pregnant wife in his arms and she asks him to, please, stop being a dick to her family so it will be easier on him, and he monotonely

I loved "Frasier," but if anyone's going to be returning to TV, I wish it was David Hyde Pierce. He was fantastic on that show. Granted, if he DID return to TV, people would likely bitch that he was either "not being enough like Niles" or, contrarily, "being too much like Niles" in whatever new project he did. He's

Adored that whole scene. People were almost wheezing from laughter in our theater.

Absolutely agree. I thought the movie lagged a bit once they got to Candie-Land (the first act of the film was among Tarantino's tightest, funniest, and most engaging writing), and both the scene with the guards taking Django to the mines and the subsequent return to Candie Land made the movie feel unnecessarily long.

It's funny/odd that Lithgow plays Mann's father when she hilariously played his wife in "Orange County."

The "30 Rock" flashback to the last time Floyd (Sudeikis) fell off the wagon and drunkenly reviewed "Tarzan on Ice" is my favorite "30 Rock" cutaway of all time. I laugh myself senseless every time.

Unrelated: Good. I was actually pondering watching "Scandal" over winter vacation, but Desmond drove me NUTS on "Lost." I know I'm in the minority there, but Cusick would honestly be a deal-breaker for "Scandal."

"How Do You Know" wasn't that bad, but it was advertised poorly. They kept pushing the director's credibility from "As Good As It Gets," but it wasn't close to living up to that expectation. It was cute, but far from memorable.
