Stop saying "I see what ____ did there." It's an annoying phrase.

"…the man who wrote and directed some of the most distinctive indie comedies of the ’90s…"

You sound like a parody of yourself, whoever you are.

Having seen "Metropollitan," I have no desire to see any other films by this bourgeois homunculus.

Sorry, I just really started to hate Lisa after watching the season 4 DVD set. Season 5 and 6 are good Lisa, but the tone had already been set for the totally unlikeable Oakley/Weinstein version.

I refuse to acknowledge this as the best episode of season 4, although my vodka-addled brain can't think of a better one at the moment. There's that one really unfunny scene, for example, when LIsa plays guitar. I find her really, really annoying.

That's not one of my favorite episodes, but I can see what you mean. A three-part, 85-minute story arc might have made it gold.

Say what you will, but I really enjoyed Leonard Pierce's reviews of "The Office" back when he filled in for Rabin.

Oh, they're not sooooo dark. There's some good Family Guy porn there, too.

Hey, hey! Let's not romanticize too much here. A+ for mostly everything through season 6, but there are a few less-than-satisfactory episodes in there, like "Duffless," for my money.

1. Homer Goes to College
2. Radio Bart
3. Secrets to a Successful Marriage
4. Whacking Day
5. Separate Vocations

That's true. Let me be more specific, though: in the episode of "The Wonder Years" that I was referring to, it is when the Arnold daughter tries to convince her visiting grandparents that Laugh-In is funny, though not "ha-ha funny". I haven't bothered to find out what season this was in, but I know that it stands out

I thought it was great.

I remember that phrase being used in an early season of The Wonder Years.

David Mirkin's commentaries are the best. What, are you one of those wimpy Bill Oakley types?

This is GREAT news!

Completely insane, but historically accurate.

I've seen this style of photography on a lot of covers of Vanity Fair. I think the idea is, "The whiter we make her, the prettier and younger she will look."

Someday you too will understand that getting pop culture jokes is a dead end.

Generic A.V,. Club freak: "Ha ha, this post is genius, I want to suck O'Neel's geeky dick until it bleeds."
