Bill Hicks: that routine, really? I love certain Bill Hicks, but he really stumbles through this one on drugs - especially when a woman in the audience yells out "So why'd you stop?" and he can't come up with a satisfying response. (Only stutters something about not being able to top seeing aliens).

As soon as Rabin finally features something other than a "Secret Success" again in this column, I'll take the time to read it.

So I used a douchey word - sue me!

Your appeal to authority (Sarris) is where you go wrong. Andrew Sarris was wrong on so, so many things - beginning with "auteur theory".

God, this movie is awful.

No it doesn't. I've read this comment before, and natch don't find your wrong opinion very original either. Next time, either shut the fuck up or say something original and relevant.

Slumdog Millionaire is utter garbage! It is, hands down, the worst-directed movie I have ever had to sit through. Danny Boyle is like a retarded ADD teenager.

I haven't seen The Artist, but Hugo was a boring waste of time that didn't even do justice to Melies. It was a lesson in film history for people who know nothing about film history.

No: museums should be destroyed, and all their art distributed to bars. I am not a crackpot: read Guy Debord for more info.

Agreed!

So you want to ghettoize sex in films. Ter-fucking-rific. Actually, that's the exact opposite of what needs to happen.

Sorry to break it to you, but Steinbeck is not fine literature.

You might as well just wish that capitalism worked without profits.

My wish is to see Danny Boyle die in some violent but hilarious (and, ideally, ironic) way.

Yeah, you know that war was seven decades ago, right? And also, Americans are dickheads.

Please never compare Gilliam to Bunuel again.

I am surprised by this grade and review. Belle de Jour is good but not great Bunuel. Much better are Simon of the Desert, The Discreet Charm of the Bourgeoisie, That Obscure Object of Desire, Los Olvidados, Diary of a Chambermaid, and of course L'age d'or, Un chien andalou, and Land without Bread.

Did we really need this article? This a scene that I have committed to memory, and I'm sure many, many other people have as well.

All right, some of these just are not that surprising. Someone before me already discussed the Bee Gees. But also, "The Simpsons Sing the Blues" million-plus albums sold was perfectly of its time. 'Simpsons' merch was everywhere, and it was two seasons before the show would get ironic about its cheap products sold to

I completely agree with "Party in the U.S.A." The first time I heard that I went into a deep depression as a result. True story.
