Some machines sell used dvds upfront for $7.

2nd try
'American Inventor' was the previous US incarnation, but it tried to wring comedy out of the ridiculous ideas at first — like Idol tryouts, the it was a competitive reality show as the field narrowed down to one winner, who got money and contacts to launch their products.

The photos in the AP version of this story feature shots of LA machines.

If 'your friend' can't float themselves $2, they have no business using a debit card. Or renting norbit.

oh, and customer service is awesome. They sent me free codes after I complained about a pan-n-scan disc, and after I screwed up and rented an Iron Man cartoon instead of the 'real' film.

You'd be surprised:

clarifications
Redbox does not take cash. Otherwise who would ever return a disc?

Great things about the sucky show
Yes, Lyons sucked. And Mankowitz was just paid to be the Colmes to Lyons' Hannity. But I still DVR'd it religiously because:

I've never seen this show
but I'll post anyway to avoid the obvious

give iy to her
I can't wait for the evil media to just ignore her

Hardee's $6 burger
A few years ago, I was eating on the patio of a local bar/restaurant. I ordered their $7 burger, and when it came, I couldn't be more disappointed, and gazed across the street to the Hardee's, thinking I must be being filmed for a commercial for their Six Dollar Burger (which only costs $3 or so).

Wendy's spicy chicken wrap
Lots of talk about how good the Spicy Chicken Filet is (no argument here), but I have to speak up for the wrap version.

When I was a Boy Scout, we used to make donuts for breakfast by deep frying refrigerator biscuits from the cardboard tube, poking a hole in the middle to ensure they cook evenly. Then sprinkle some powdered sugar on top.

You all got it wrong
What the story doesn't mention is that the bidding war wasn't for how much each studio was willing to pay for the rights to the Asteroids name, but how little each studio would charge Atari to make the movie, so that Atari could make money off of the 30-year commemorative re-release of the

Iron Maiden???
Can anyone tell me if this is any good? I see that it's on sale for only $12 at BB this week, which isn't much more than it would cost to rent, given that it isn't likely to be in the Redboxes.

Every TV market I've lived in has shown Wheel at 7:00 and Jeapardy at 7:30, filling in between the news hour and prime time. My current market used to even show reruns on Saturday, but they also showed Regis and Kathy Lee at 4:00pm.

#2 in syndication next to Wheel??? Not tied???

Obviously the dog is in danger, as it the human, given the life-on-the-edge poverty depicted in this film.

spoilers?
Why ruin Wendy and Lucy like that?

Stranded?
Anyone seen it?
