Fuck me and my multiple posts
yeah

Too Bad
This is too bad, I love Franz's playing (well, with the exception of the harpsichord, but there will be no knocking of the accordion), and think he was integral in the shaping of the pinnacles of Stay Positive and Boys and Girls in America. That said, I can;t say I'm surprised, he has a ton going on and I

I think it really went downhill for Jay after he smugly refused to come on to Kimmel's show. That was when Jimmy just started to let him have it

Big Pink
When I went to my cousins wedding in the Catskills near Woodstock, NY, this fall, I looked up the address of "Big Pink", the house Bob Dylan and The Band recorded the basement tapes in. It was way out in the boonies down a bunch of dirt roads. The current owners have kept the pink paint scheme, and we

I'm still hoping that the Coens go through with adapting The Yiddish Policeman's Union after they are done with True Grit

I generally enjoyed SHerlock Holmes, it was well done but not super impressive. I thought Law and Downey had great on-screen chemistry, unlike Downey with McAdams, ug. She's supposed to be "the women" the one and only female to ever interest Holmes, and repeatedly beat him and his intellect. McAdams simply could

Next time I put on a balaclava, it will be accompanied by the amusing muttering:
BALACLAVA MOTHERFUCKER

Damn
Watching the video posted witht the review for Monterey Pop makes me wish I had been able to see The Who live in their prime. I mean, they really were the best live act in rock in the late 60's and early 70's. At least of major touring bands.

Gotta through some more love out for Furnace Room Lullaby. I remain a pretty big alt. country fan, and that was the first album of hers I was turned on to. So while some subsequent albums may be better, I have some serious nostalgia love for FRL. Also, the songs South Tacoma Way and Bought and Sold are two songs

I agree with Corey, I've seen Neko a few times in a largish club (First Ave in minneapolis) and once at a large theater. I love her no matter what, but the club atmosphere is much preferred, especially cause I can get closer for the same amount of cash, and then stare creepily

Play it fucking loud

WHen I was an asst supervisor at a social service branch I worked in what was meant to be a storage closet. It was large, but no windows, no lights other than what I brought in. My staff called it the cave.

Then again, instead of being put into a closet, he should just be fired, but since he's also a producer, not going to happen.

Ryan's a temp again, not a salesmen. That's why he's (not) doing the data entry. And as someone who has spent time in supervisory roles, fuck Ryan, he doesn't deserve to be treated like a colleague if he's unwilling to do his basic job functions.

To Noel "Kick-Ass" Murray
Let me just say its awesome to see you writing about music again, if only for this end of the decade round-up. Your reviews over the years are what brought me into the AVC, and Popless was some of the most moving music criticism I've read. So, its good to see you in your old wheelhouse.

A thousand kids will fall in love in all the clubs tonight
A thousand other kids will end up gushing blood tonight
Two thousand kids wont get too much sleep tonight
Two thousand kids they still feel pretty sweet tonight
I still feel pretty sweet.

A Blessing and Curse, while good, fails to live up to the high Standard of their other work in the lat ten years, in my opinion.

Separation Sunday
Damn straight. I figured a Hold Steady album would make it, but thought the staff would pick Boys and Girls in America. I definitely agree with he choice of Seperation Sunday. Its my favorite album of the decade. I got it the day I went to my first Hold Steady show. They were playing at First Ave

God I love that album. Especially Danko/Manuel. Incredible song.

AHHHH. I mean "their own stuff"
