I never really liked Kinnear all that much. Henson (who was on for at least as long) was funnier and more genial.

I would debate putting Mencken in the conservative camp, James. Politically he was, if anything, in favor of intellectual oligarchy, which is hardly in line with American conservatives. He did certainly have a disdain for the common man that was out of line with Democrats, but he also had some views not out of line…
