You mean MICKEY Rooney, right?

Huh. I found the 3D in Piranha to be shockingly bad for a movie that seemed like it could have a bunch of fun, gratuitous pop-out effects (like My Bloody Valentine). Except for the opening title card and the floating penis, it looked to me like a typical Viewmaster-ish conversion job.

@Ref Cal

Can we also talk about JohnPidrovich's two-part comment on the Episode III review?

@JS1234

Tasha, are you talking about Captain's final line of the film? Because I didn't get anything punchline-y about it. I actually felt like it was played for pathos, not laughs, and I thought that it worked.

Kyle's gay wizard voice
Seriously?

Pretty much.

@Audience Member

There is one hilarious shot near the end of the movie where she literally just sort of stands there, looking up at nothing in particular in slow-motion as buildings crumble and robot-cars explode around her.

The first shot after the title card of the movie is a close-up of her lower ass with her panties all up in the crack. I guess Bay had to top Megan Fox straddling a motorcycle from the second movie.

You'll wish.

hmmm
I love you, Tasha, but…

If you're a nitpicky nerd — present! — the paralysis thing is pretty big. Erik inadvertently paralyzes Charles in the early '60s, but in the opening scene of X-Men 3 (which takes place in the '80s, right? Or did they timestamp it?), Charles is walking into Jean Grey's house with Erik, who's still his best bud.

NERDY SPOILERS?

the bad and the ugly
Now that you've talked about what you're excited to see, what big movies are you absolutely dreading?

Also, while we're talking about it…

Yeah, my theater only had midnight showings in 3D so I had no other option. I'd compare it to the retrofitting on Clash of the Titans: Aside from a few Viewmaster-esque shots, there's not much 3D about it. I took my glasses off for certain stretches of the movie, and I didn't even notice the telltale 3D blur. Save $3

Speaking of which…
