This song was actually ghost-produced by Large Professor. Eric B. really had nothing to do with the beats or production on the Eric B. & Rakim albums although he was credited. The Let The Rhythm Hit 'Em album was started by Paul C and finished by his student Large Pro after Paul was murdered. One listen to Eric B.'s

I've always fantasized about making a movie where "Dude (Looks Like A Lady)" is the only song used in the film. Over and over and over again. Most unwatchable film ever.

I love The Pharcyde, but I'd much rather see another album from A Tribe Called Quest circa their Low End Theory/Midnight Marauders best.

Has anyone else mentioned the "Player's Ball" remix yet? It's always been my favorite version of the song. I remember Rap City on BET used to always spin this version of the video, so this is how I first heard the track: http://www.youtube.com/watc…

Gang Starr and Pete Rock & CL would like a word with you.

Hasn't Coachella in recent years basically become a haven for rich celebs and 20-something yuppies? I feel like every music fan who used to look forward to has bolted.

I think people definitely came around by the time ATLiens had been out for a little bit. I at least remember "Elevators" getting constant spins on the radio in the DC/Baltimore area. Not sure what it was like elsewhere, but although it was a distinctly odd song (especially for radio…I don't think I knew what to make

Yup! Glad someone mentioned it! Their best soundtrack work, arguably.

I had the same error, but I just emailed them back, and they sent the link to me.

It looks like there's a collection of rarities they're offering. If you haven't heard "Lovely How I Let My Mind Float" with Biz Markie or "Sh. Fee MC's" with A Tribe Called Quest, GET ON IT!

Yeah, hip-hop reviews from places like Rolling Stone and the NY Times during the 80's-90's are PAINFUL, especially when you get into the absolutely idiotic territory of RS shitting on Midnight Marauders or The Washington Post talking smack about Paid In Full. Even a lot of favorable reviews from similar publications

Black On Both Sides, Internal Affairs, Black Star, Train Of Thought…Rawkus had some solid full-lengths in their catalog.

I still need the first album actually, but everything I've heard from it is killer. Wish they'd reissue it with Premier's remix to "Rugged Neva Smoove" and the original "Downtown Swinga" though.

Other than a tossed-off Canibus line with "f*g" in it, I don't
remember One Day It'll All Make Sense having any homophobia. Like Water had some questionable lines, but not One Day.

Yeah, at the end of the day, Beats Rhymes and Love Movement are better than a good share of hip-hop records released at the time and especially since. I won't go out of my way to call them classic or anything, but they're far from unlistenable. Lots to recommend, and nothing outright embarrassing or awful.

It's easy to distinguish Fame and Billy of M.O.P., but yeah, they're pretty much one in the same lyrically.

Shaheed did handle a good share of the outside productions credited to A Tribe Called Quest though (Fu-Schnickens, Shaq, BDP, Bush Babees, etc.)

Other than a tossed-off Canibus line with "fag" in it, I don't
remember One Day It'll All Make Sense having any homophobia. Like Water
had some questionable lines, but not One Day.

Ugh, PM Dawn…I will always dig a handful of Arrested Development songs which I find to be incredible pop songs, but man, PM Dawn…I don't think I'll EVER come around to them. :P
