Overwhelming curiosity?
Overwhelming curiosity?
Square, yes, but also astoundingly naive. If someone could get him to actually believe that story, then who knows what else he'd buy into?
I'm in the process of selling a car I love. It's because I'm broke.
As a female car enthusiast, I think it's like enthusiasm for any other type of craftsmanship or art: either it does something for you or it doesn't. I have to say I think it's a little weird that people here seem so dismissive of car lovers; you'd think people who spend so much of their time geeking out on pop culture…
You're going to buy and burn a car a month until a few car enthusiasts stop calling Vampire Weekend a bunch of dicks? That's a proportionate response.
Nicole Kidman's natural accent is pretty goddamn Australian.
The studio system also created people like Judy Garland, and by "created" I mean it gave her a career but destroyed her life.
I've spent a lot of time in New Orleans and never had trouble with most of the regional accents until I started seeing a guy from Chalmette. I could understand maybe half of what the dude said, and that's being generous.
The regional accents can be incredibly annoying - like Julia fucking Roberts, who used a Georgia accent when playing a Texas socialite, and people talked about her great "Southern" accent.
I agree. Looking for hidden meaning is all well and good, but some people miss the actual text while they're dreaming up a subtext.
@avclub-924164c1d98466f693f4455f4ce27bd5:disqus please give us the spoiler - I'm not likely to see this movie until it comes out on DVD, and probably not even then.
Wendy…darling…LIGHT of my LIFE…I'm not gonna hurt you.
Ryan Lochte strikes me as the "hot body but just plain terrible at fucking" type.
I have that problem occasionally but not consistently, and I have no idea why it changes even though I haven't done anything differently. @avclub-e57dbebc740250d2c4a370cf6ccb35f0:disqus You mean a 0. (Sorry, I'm being pedantic again.) I'd actually put myself as a 1: I'm really not into chicks at all, but…yeah, Christina Hendricks.
I agree. I think shooting both of them in the same way really highlights the situation: Turturro's on his way out and Fiennes is on the way in, but they're playing the same game. And really, both characters are struggling with whether or not to take part in the deception at that particular moment, so I think shooting…
Gotcha. Serves me right for skimming the comments.
Edited for stupidity.
Paul Scofield was beyond awesome. He wasn't in many movies, but goddamn he dominates every frame, every time. His performance is one of my favorite things in Kenneth Branagh's Henry V, and I love most things in that movie.
Paul Scofield is wonderful as the dad. His chemistry with Fiennes is fantastic.
