"Ride a painted pony, let the spinning wheel blaaaaaahhhhhhh…"

It didn't make a lot of sense to me that Leslie wouldn't bend over backwards to have her mother attend her wedding, but I'm hoping that it will provide fodder for an upcoming episode with Pamela Reed.

My wife added a hypen and my last name to her maiden name.  It was entirely her decision, and I thought it was kind of neat—I always liked her last name.

I just wish I could have eavesdropped the conversation between Perd and Chris.

She also sang on an episode of "Doug Loves Movies" featuring Poelher and others from the P & R cast.

Do NOT watch this movie if you are trying to quit smoking.

I once tried to read the original book upon which the film was based, but it was godawful—a melodramatic hagiography:

I really don't understand why this remarkable series
has been cast aside to the TV Club graveyard, presumably in favor of pieces
that dissect reality game shows.

She just turned 80, ya know.

Phil Hartman as the "Unfrozen Caveman Lawyer"—A recurring character a thousand times funnier than, say, "Coffee Talk with Linda Richman," but unfortunately forgtotten.  I keep trying to explain this character to people, but one really needs to watch Hartman's performance to understand it.

I'm kind of mystified that there has not yet been a comprehensive, official collection of the Simpsons shorts as they originally appeared on the old Tracy Ullman show.  A perverse side of me would like to screen old episodes of "Real People" and "That's Incrdible", as well as "Turn On," a comedy legendarily cancelled

Great article, Todd.  Thank you.

@Hear God Laugh—That's what I thought; it just that this week seems to be the first week that I've encountered people complaining that CI & the Douche aren't funny.

These days, at minimum, the mere mention of a calzone makes me smile.

I'm still pondering the significance of the "Team Aniston" patch.

Are Crazy Ira and the Douche supposed to actually be funny on their own level, or a satire of morning-zoo tropes?

It was worth it for the Sweetums condom.

Dickhead troll—or AV Club Facebook post.  Same difference?

You know you're getting old when the first song you think of doesn't make the list:  Led Zeppelin, "Hats Off To (Roy) Harper."
