I think the training is focused on becoming a more believable liar, not actually becoming mindless or whatever.

Beats me. Although re-reading this, it occurs to me that "The Princess and the Frog is the most unsuccessful Disney movie, therefore people won't buy black heroines" is a really dumb argument. Also I love The Princess and the Frog.

For that game, could be. I'm sure you could do A|B testing and show that the bestselling cover for an individual game is a reg'lar ol' white dude.

I'm betting big on Loras Tyrell. I said it. I really think the Frankenmountain will kill him as a prelude to Cleganebowl, because the Frankenmountain as done fuck-all and there are few good fighters to even pit him against to make us extra scared of him.

How is that a strawman? You introduced the argument that a romantic storyline is inappropriate for an all-ages film because you don't like that a three-year-old might see people falling in love.

Those are good points, but I think the answer to them is to get better, not eradicate Native Americans, Middle Easterners or Asians from their films. They do get better, and I argue that that's a better direction to go than to continue creating a pop culture landscape in which minorities and gays simply don't exist.

Why do you think all family and kids entertainment should be pitched to your idea of appropriateness for three-year-olds? What a strange view. Disney movies like Frozen might be marketed to kids "as young as" three, but certainly not exclusively (I would argue they're intended to be all-ages, not even just kids'

kids aren't really the best group for a work exploring sexual identity

A commonplace one.

Well, that's kind of the point of having Disney animation or Marvel put gay characters front and center in the mainstream, because it allows people (gay and straight) to see them in normal situations without having to seek out "gay" media (generally adult, often ghettoized).

Well, they're related, in that people who complain about shoehorning diversity in are actually quite disappointed there is actual diversity all over the place. And would like less of it. Which is why they want it gone from media.

In the context of kid or family stories, I don't think you have a point about leaning harder on physical sexuality to show a gay couple or flirtation. Lots of straight relationship stories have a pair who start off as antagonists, acquaintances or platonic friends and develop feelings from there, and you can use the

she could go either way

I disagree with the first part of your statement, because I think it's also bad if sexuality as a whole is closeted and pathologized as only something weird gross perverts are into. Sex and romance should be part of stories, pop culture or otherwise.

It's pretty entertaining. My twelve-year-old said it was his second favorite movie of last year, after Star Wars.

That was a big reason why Eye in the Sky was so execrable, rather than just being mediocre.

About 20% of marriages are sexless.

I think Lowered Expectations was SNL?

I actually thought Snyder made the right call, there. The "greek statue" proportions from the comic would have made it the center of discussion about how small it was.
