Fair enough. I appreciate that perspective on it. Maybe I should watch it again with the idea that it's not about the characters but about perceptions.

I love this use of the "big red dog" and will refer to shark week/Aunt Flo's visit as "Clifford" from now on.
I more or less disagree with you, not that the monster is somehow driven by the characters, but that you don't like how it was executed and I do.
You'll reap the rewards when you get older and descend into dementia. It's like a reset button for your pop culture burnout.
I make a conscious effort not to burn myself out on my favorite movies, especially comedies, for reasons like this. Songs, too. Oh, and there are episodes of Firefly I'm saving for a special occasion, like a bottle of ancient scotch in a tontine.
Don't take no for an answer! Just be around her all the time and eventually she'll love you. That's how it works.
Overrated by whom? Just in terms of business?
When you actually start looking for semi-private places for sexual activity, you realize they're not that common. Not every place offers something as hot and secluded as a Mötorhead concert.
It's important for a child to understand where their turtle soup comes from.

When I finally convinced my wife to go see Ween, on the way back she asked if we could sell the house and follow the band.
Muenster cheese?!
There's always a real problem describing Ween, because it's not really parody. It's not exactly mockery. It's not exactly NOT mockery but it's non-comic pastiche or something. It's definitely not cross-genre Tenacious D or something.
Money can buy anything @avclub-e57f718840a576abbb40a7d046c4e3b0:disqus , and now we know what drives your money-grubbing Wall Street striving: a love of husband-adjacent vulvae.
I did something very similar but I didn't have to quit my job or duck her calls for as long. Yes, I do feel very bad about it, not being a man about it is one of the things I do regret, but I don't think it's so awful in the scheme of things. I think it only makes you a bad person if you keep doing things like that.
Even driving a car… without a team to be driven.
@avclub-01c2bff254aa9799912374128532e5b3:disqus Good points, I basically agree. I just have seen and heard of stranger things happening under dysfunctional bosses.
@avclub-d7f43e1fb2d4977c86163d9b0cb07814:disqus You could be right. That was my impression. I'm no podcast scholar (those guys!), that was my impression and I know from experience that as you get older the weight goes on but doesn't come off as easily.
It's not unreasonable, it's just that in real life it wouldn't be heightened like that. Nellie would have started calling herself interim manager, would have had a little more communication with Robert, and it would have been boring. But that kind of thing does happen if someone goes AWOL.
Is this at all related to the cliché that cheerleaders are not cool, smart or fun?
