I don't know, Jack in particular looks a bit rough around the edges the whole episode. I think it's just end-of-season burnout, piled onto whatever frustrations have been building from dealing with Geoffrey's reinterpretations of the play every performance.

Does anyone know if Basil is meant to represent Richard Ouzounian, the theatre critic for the Toronto Star? Here's a video of him reviewing a production of Born Yesterday from the Shaw Festival:

I can't decide if there are similarities between his mannerisms and Sean Cullen's performance as

Indeed. I happened to PVR the movie "What Katy Did" and watch it this week because I noticed it had Martha Burns in it. Two other Slings & Arrows actresses popped up (Catherine Fitch, who plays Maria the stage manager, and Marcia Bennett, who plays May Silverstone). It was a not great movie, but it was delightful

I've noticed it in previous episodes, but it really hit me hard in this one how thoroughly the show mimics the feel of not just Stratford the festival, but of Stratford the town. The details are amazing. The sign of the Chinese restaurant is vaguely reminiscent of Gene's Chinese Restaurant on the main drag in downtown

I never watched it myself because I was kind of lukewarm on the movie to begin with, but it seemed to receive a bit of a cool reception and was cancelled after one season.

McCamus is indeed a phenomenal actor. There are plays I've chosen to see at Stratford just because he was in them. Even if I wasn't thrilled with the production, I always love his performances. And I always like seeing him pop up on TV and in movies. He's one of those actors who I think should be much more famous than

I saw Ouimette in Waiting for Godot along with Tom McCamus (who makes an appearance in one episode of S&A). He was pretty amazing in that. I've seen both Ouimette and McCamus in a number of other Stratford productions, but Godot really stands out.

I've heard criticism leveled at him that his films are never profitable, and thus he essentially sucks up tax money to churn out movies hardly anyone sees. But that pretty much sums up 99% of Canadian film, so I'm not sure it's a fair criticism.

Indeed. I bust out my Twitch City DVD now and then and watch it through. It's held up pretty well.
If you're able to track down Michael: Tuesdays & Thursdays, I highly recommend it. McKellar was Executive Producer and directed a handful of episodes. It was cancelled after one season because of low ratings, but worth

Nirvana, their last tour. People were throwing stuff on stage. Mostly water bottles, but during Lithium someone beaned Kurt Cobain in the side of the head with a shoe. He instantly dropped his guitar, picked up the shoe and threw it as hard as he could at the guy. He then calmly picked up his guitar and started

Allison and tWitch? Really? That's kind of awesome. Imagine the amazing dancing babies they'd have!

No kidding. Did you see how he grabbed her hair when he hugged her at the end of the dance? It was adorable.

Last night Sonya said that she wasn't easing up on the choreography just because Cyrus has been struggling. I think that was the first time one of the choreographers openly acknowledged that maybe Cyrus isn't the greatest dancer. Up until last night, they all seemed to be drinking the Kool-Aid, at least in front of
