I don't know if anyone has mentioned it, but Straub's Ghost Story scared the hell out of me as
a teen.
 Don's nightmare of the house and everything to do with Fenny….freaked me out badly.

That one messed with me ….have to read it again, have it in a short story collection

If more people followed the ideas then maybe it wouldn't be useless
and pointless.
And all of us spend our time doing useless and pointless things…some
could actually accomplish something if enough people worked at it.

Good for them. 
It's so much easier to be apathetic and cynical and say they
can't make a difference, but some still try.
It's commendable at a time when there are fewer and fewer commendable
things even living anymore.
Can always just dismiss it and keep our hip cynicism, probably better that way.

Watched The Tall Man this weekend and liked it a lot.  Thought it was just going to
meander along as a horror flick but it still surprised me, even though I knew Laugier
had tricks up his sleeve.
 Also saw The Proposition.  Great flick.  Cinematography was amazing and really dug
the characters.  Written by Nick Cave.
