That episode never stuck in my head, apparently. (Never one of my favorites.) Also, you win this round.

Fine, two. [walks away grumbling]

Okay, that reference may have won you this argument…for now.

Huh, you're right. Honestly, I don't know where the 11-episode order idea came from. Blame it on my old, old brain. Apologies. As to my knowledge, no deal has been struck for anything after this season yet. They got a two-year deal for seasons four and five, as I recall. I'll keep an ear out, though.

He was as horrified as everyone else when Jojo jumped into the fire. I mean, I'm sure he didn't lose any sleep over it…in Dee's apartment.

Oh, dammit, now I have the Flipadelphia song in my head. Thanks a bunch.

To be fair to Dennis, he wasn't hoping anyone would actually set themselves on fire (I don't think). He just wanted to prove to Dee and Frank that he was the best at manipulating people. Still…dark.

Gah, I mis one callback…

Thanks. You remain the nice one.

The classical—Well, it's free, so there's that. But the comic counterpoint between the Gang's lowbrow shenanigans and the classical music usually produced a nicely incongruous feeling. Plus, the pieces were picked well—especially underscoring Dennis' evil.
Dunno—what do you think?

My point was and is that even after "Waiting For Duffman" is rerun until the end of time on FXX, no one is going to be quoting it or having anything but a fleeting memory of it. And there was, indeed, a time when a great Simpsons episode entered into the cultural dialogue immediately on Monday morning, Twitter or no.

I get that, but I also think it unlikely that this episode—no matter how long its in reruns—will inspire the same sort of nostalgia.

Tibor, maybe?

Sadly, I cannot argue with you there.

There've been a few genuinely enjoyable ones this season.

I think you understand that that wasn't my point.

Yeah, I remember making fun of it in my review. Nothing even an old pro like Byrne can do against a line like that.

I'm not.

Rollo was definitely introduced as having been in love with Lagertha before the days of season one.
