I agree. KAL 007 and Able Archer are just way too good to not be used as plot points.

She thought Stan would turn, that's why.

Well, yes, yes you were, since there would be no other way for Stan to rescue Nina.

An attempt to rescue Nina would have ended with Stan getting shot to death by the embassy guards and Nina going back to Russia anyway.

and not betraying his country

What was he supposed to do? Invade the Soviet embassy all by himself, guns blazing?

Oy, spoiler alerts for a show that ran thirteen years ago.

TV Tropes has a page for this "Bad Bad Acting"

Nina's suffering because she betrayed both the Soviets and the Americans. If she hadn't reacted so emotionally to that one dude getting killed in Season 1 she'd have been exfiltrated and be enjoying life in the USA.

I think you're misinterpreting that scene. Not betraying America certainly was not supposed to be "another spiral". It is, in fact, Stan getting his head above water.

"If you have a chance—and don’t mind spoilers"

How long do we suppose the show is going to cover? Long enough to get to the Saratoga campaign?

They need to bone so we can see Heather Lind in less clothing. My god, so good-looking.

I too am enjoying Ens. Baker, who is just the nicest redcoat ever. If the Brits had just sent a lot of Ens. Bakers over, we'd probably be a dominion.

For some reason every goddamn part these days has to be played by a Brit.

I will agree that he needs to lose the toupee.

You haven't had an English monarch since Harold got chopped down at Hastings.

I agree, they are all in on it.

We don't care.

The independence of Canada happened because Britain got bored with ruling you people. And it didn't happen until 1982.
