From the studio that brought you Alalaladindin, Dumumubo, and Lumululan!

I recently saw Akira again for the first time in a while, with someone who had never seen it; after about 15 minutes I turned to her and was like "oh yeah, I kinda forgot: this movie's really, really violent."

And another paraphrase of something I read about Smith on the internet - this one from Dan Harmon on a blog post somewhere: "I have to be careful about listening to Elliott Smith; he's someone who literally stabbed himself in the heart because he believed what he was singing about himself."

One (very sad) thing I read about Smith that's stuck with me - right after he killed himself, I was checking out message-board posts about it, and one user said something like this: "Normally when I feel this way, I can listen to his music and feel at least a little better, but today I can't do that because he's the

Like others have mentioned, it's really for the best reason possible: because people really, strongly connect with his music. I feel like Smith's music has a mix of desperation and hopefulness which is very hard to come by, anchored by a sort of down-and-out characterization that's very immediately relatable.

I've seen people speculate that, though he would never admit it, this is one of the things that makes him angry and sad: knowing that basically everyone who's chosen to become close to him has done so for personal gain. No one joins up with Trump because they have good intentions, or because they actually like him.

I'm hoping that some of them see 'Trump and Bannon with a massive, nuclear-armed military' as a basic, non-partisan threat.

Well, at least all those folks who were so up in arms about Benghazi will certainly make a similar fuss about this, right? Right?

Not just aging like a president, but aging like the worst president.

There's an alternate reality somewhere where that tweet was enough to get people to figure out that he might not be the best guy to elect President; not our reality, though.

I get the feeling that he doesn't let much go; his brain is probably like 60% grudges.

Hmm I stand corrected; I feel like I've read about him being a dick, but that might just be rumors of course…

Well, I guess what I'm thinking of specifically is The Dark Knight Returns and his work as a comics artist, not necessarily as a writer; I've tried to read a few things by him that I found just kinda dull more than anything (I remember thinking that Ronin was cool but ultimately pretty forgettable, for example). I get

The tricky thing, of course, is that while he's a crappy filmmaker and probably an asshole in daily life, some of his early comics work really is quite good (this is probably the less-hot, more standard-issue take on Miller).

Are you talking about… poop?

Or, like this:
