Everything VanDerWerrff wrote about the nature of being a theater actor and how Ellen is reacting to it and the consequences she is facing in the life of a theater actor is 100% on the money. Everything.

Glad this performer is getting this opportunity, because lets face it, after 9 years and 184 episodes, "The Mother" has become an iconic figure on TV. To the point where you wondered if she would be like "Vera" on CHEERS who was shown once, and "Maris" on FRASIER.

Watching the clips of her above and hearing her

Wow. That's a really clever idea. I wonder if the writers will ever give Penny that "big break". If/when they do it will probably be used as a tool to strain Penny and Leonards relationship, like sending her on location far away for 3 months or so with some really handsome and famous co-star. I like your idea better.

This episode has my Dad's favorite Simpsons gag.

I completely understand that limited time is a big issue, and I'm not trying to be a Troll or anything.  It was still good, its just, like a lot of folks, the more in-depth they go the better it is. But I don't blame Marah for the fact that he had little time to talk to her. DO still wish she'd gotten in a quick

Its not the best Random Roles I've ever read, but its interesting to see his history with Buscemi and the theater, I had no idea he'd done any of that, I  would love to see Mark on BOARDWALK EMPIRE some time in some way.

Thanks.  That's very nice of you to say and I appreciate it.

Random Thoughts on this Episode:

Thanks for the reply and the historical facts.  This is not a time period I am very familiar with, so I appreciate it.

Good point. Like in any normal society, some people are more devout than others and have doubts about their deities. Some people like Floki are truly religious, some are religious when its convenient, and some like that supplicant are agnostics/atheists.

You're right in that Floki and Athelstan parallel each other in their religious devotion, one pagan, one Christian.  However, I just don't think that Floki sees Christianity as any threat to the gods of Asgard. I don't think he's really threatened at all. He doesn't really know anything about it except that its

While this was an excellent episode in many ways, I have to disagree with Perkins about how realistic it is that the Northumbrians massive defeats by the Vikings still make sense and the reasons behind Floki's hatred of Christianity and his conflict with Rollo.

They were feuding? No way!  Way.

The DJ3000 segment has to be one of the funniest things I've seen in awhile. It may be because I really hate Morning Zoo patter. It just drives me insane. "How's he keep up with the news like that?" Oh god.

I am fine with my alma mater Alabama being repped by Mr. Burns. Yeah, that accurately represents our dominance and power and all. You'll notice he's holding the BCS Trophy.  They should have had him holding 2.  Love his houndstooth tie. That being said, I wish they'd kept Cletus for Auburn. Oh well.  RTR.

Is this some great fucking writing by Rabin?  You bet your sweet titties it is.

Geoffreys teaching of this corporate class shows what real theater professionals have to do in order to do the work they really want to do, and how something you go into dreading can instead be a revelation/rediscovery.

I don't think she's ever made a cameo before.  So we'll see. I am very interested in finding out what she thinks of this obvious parody/homage to her.

This was one of my favorite HIMYM's in awhile. I have to admit, I'm a sucker for Robin Sparkles, but Robin Daggers!? Wow.  The whole Alanis Morrissette/Dave Coulier thing was just perfect. Sagets "I always loved that bit."….priceless. I wonder what Ms. Morrissette thought of this episode or if she saw it?

Fantastic interview Will!  I would love to see Jeremy Irons do Shakespeare live.  Especially Iago or Lear….the mind reels at this. I can't believe he hasn't played Iago yet!
