I'm sure it's all Mr. Rogers reruns, so I applaud them

great article, todd

This looks good.  Sure to be my first Tyler Perry movie (or, I suppose, the closest I'll have come to).  Thanks for the recommend, Iggy V, and welcome!

It's the presence of olds, or simply slight variation in ages, that makes me prefer shows like Community, Parks and Suburgatory to often better shows like New Girl, Happy Endings and Friends.  With those latter shows, it seems like different shades of sarcasm too much of the time, as if the dialogue could come from

No doubt. My friend half-joked after the movie that Jeff Nichols may be off a break-up. Enough people probably commented on the abandonment theme between your screening and mine that the mother's affair was perhaps edited out. Equally likely, I missed it.

I didn't realize the mother was having an affair.  She didn't merely fall out of love with the father?

Channing Tatum dies. soon.

I liked the mental surgery Liam Neeson seemed to perform in The Grey when he instructed that guy on how to die.

Did Lena Dunham somehow think her show might get canceled?  The Ring is destroyed, Buffy has given her Gift…yet these stories aren't over?  (in the case of Girls, though, I'm glad it's not…)

S2-4

@soniasaraiya:disqus , Strictly Ballroom and Princess Bride were two of the three movies that occurred to me as well (the other being Waiting for Guffman).  My family watched those movies a gazillion times when I was a kid and the flaws I sometimes think exist in the them (Fran's mother's lines and Mark Knopfler's

I'm especially reminded lately how it seems no show goes more than three seasons before reverting to good (Parks) or mediocre (Community), yet The Simpsons somehow went twice as many seasons at perfect (3-8) and equally as many more good (1-2, 9-12).  Even shows like Cheers or The Wire, which never had bad seasons,

Completely agree with the first two, never heard of the third.  So I will be going to there.

Bitterman?

The Darren Nichols character reminds me of John Lithgow's hack director in All That Jazz, in the wings, ready to take over. Great movie, All That Jazz.  Anyone wanna watch All That Jazz?

Bitterman?

Does anyone know if the Jack Crew arc of season 1 is based on when Keanu Reeves performed Hamlet in Winnipeg post-Speed?

Seth MacFarlane can host the Oscars but Andy Serkis can't get nominated just about anywhere. c'mon.
