I think a better way to get someone into a show is to suggest a certain run of episodes. A mere episode is usually unsatisfying because you're going into it without ANY investment in the characters—and that's almost everything a TV show is! You'll figure out the types, but you won't perceive significant depth.
What you said about The Interrupters was my issue, too. Why does no one in The Interrupters acknowledge the camera?
I love The Artist intensely, but that Vertigo…I'll call it "sample," was wrong. It's okay to sample film scores, (eg, Tarantino), but just not from the most famous scene in a famous movie. The effect is that the Vertigo scene, and not just it's score, does the heavy lifting. Also, using it to dramatize suicide and…

Hugo was a robot movie. There was some stuff involving film and a boy's friendship with an old director at the end…but, no, mostly just a boy and a girl trying to figure out what's up with this robot they've got.

I can't be sure, but I remember this movie being infamous as one of the first big budget movies not to be screened for critics. Anyone confirm?
zOMG TROY & ABED PARODIED THE ANDREWS SISTERS!!!
Pretty sure it hasn't had an American release yet, but Summer Camp's Welcome to Condale tops my tops.
They've just become aware of this propaganda with The Muppets? I've been hip to this shit since I was a kid and taught that Judas was traitor, not an entrepreneur fighting communism.
I think Parks & Rec is gonna resemble the Dana Carvey Show someday in how shocking it is what writers were on staff. Chelsea Peretti and Harris are some of my favorite up-and-comers.
Thought the picture was from Robin Hood, but I guess not. I guess she was too quick to fall in love with her captor.
Loved the debate talk. One of my favorite Thanksgivings was when everyone confessed what Republicans they voted for. I hope someday I'll find my (R) with a cool sounding name…
