The show reminded me a lot of Emily Rios' last FX show, The Bridge - the (eventually?) interlocking stories used to tell the slightly moodier than expected story of a thorny US societal issue with international effects.

Re: Kira's cutting - what doctor could they go to that
a) won't/doesn't report to Neolution, or
b) won't investigate further, thereby exposing all of Neolution and putting everyone in greater danger?

Not surprising - she's already played a young version of Helen Mirren in The Woman in Gold.

Joy was a flop, but Serena was never projected to be big - that was an arthouse film from the jump.

I think a large unspoken part of Compton's success was that it was directed by F. Gary Gray, who directed the music video for "Today was a Good Day" and the movie "Friday". He was someone who knew that world intimately so he knew how to get the small details right.

Allegedly, the sex act was oral sex performed on the woman. This is going to be a hell of a case to unravel.

There are numerous sites and forums dedicated to spoilers/backstage/production info for reality shows.

That was on the table (both live-action or animated) along with Rosie O'Donnell campaigning to play Mrs. Weasley until Rowling stepped in and required that the cast be actually British.

In that movie, EVERY supporting role is pretty goddamn good except for Diaz.

That was the thing that got me too - as a (then) 20 year old raised on Bay, Peterson, de Bont et al., the fact that there was ONE explosion in the entire movie (and it's a distraction move!) blew my mind.

She's really good at it - she swears like a sailor on the Slate podcasts for The Americans and it's awesome.

It's inconceivable she could have had relationships with more than one East Asian guy?

You could get away with that when the viewing public cared a lot less about the behind-the-scenes stuff that goes into films but he and the studio would catch a lot of flak for that today.

Would that make Die Hard's Theo the Claudette Colvin?

He may be able to act the role but Seymour is a high tenor and JGL is a passable (at best) baritone.

To be fair, he pulled a Reservoir Dogs on the second dog - you don't see it killed, just hear it and see others' reaction.

I don't think someone who lacks empathy would have traveled across state lines and risked an operation just to call his former foster brother who's sick with leukemia.
