I think the idea is supposed to be that he's not picking up on Jimmy's obvious discomfort in large part because O'Brien's warned Jimmy that he can't shove him off. In this ep he had a couple of lines about not being like everyone else etc. that seemed like code to deluded Thomas. Plus she also told Thomas that he was

He showed he wasn't objective when he ordered people to stop filming just because Pam was crying over a fight with her husband. And when he basically jumped into a scene to say "Hey, you're not

I don't think Jim's half the villain you're describing here. He's a guy in a solid marriage who's been a perfectly dependable husband, but always wanted to do more with his life, and is invested in his new job/business. It's not the most selfish thing in the world. Families do this all the time. Pam's happiness

It seems like the opposite to me, that it isn't about the ramification b/w the doc crew and office crew—just Brian/Pam. So far no other two people have any substantial contact, they brought it up just as Jim's made the mistake of focusing on something other than Pam for too long and even the doc crew started doing

I suspect we'll find out that Alyssa broke up with Brian or something and that's why he's suddenly into Pam. At least I hope so. At least that would put him back down into the decent human being role, albeit a confused one.

She's not setting out to be a career mural painter (and if she was she could probably get more work in Philadelphia). Them getting divorced over this would be

Jim's spent the past 9 years listening to Pam's dream. This was just bad timing. As Pam herself said, when she gives him good news she can always count on him being happy for her.

Exactly. Also there was the longer, more serious fight underneath it. Pam sees Athlead as her working hard to give Jim everything he wants. He sees it as a change that, however much he loves it, is also making a better life for his family. There's nothing particularly cruel about it.

You need Pete. Pete, like the pie, is your heart.

I don't think even this show would suggest that Pam becomes regional manager with her professional career. She keeps things calm because she's a calming influence personally. She's not good at sales.

Yes, the Jim/Pam conflict is surprisingly believable to me. As much as the original one they had. Plus they're both following behavior patterns they've established over and over in earlier seasons (even the best seasons). Jim stays frustrated until he knows what he wants and takes it, even if it means burning bridges.
