advance reader copy- i work at a bookstore. you can tell how serious a publisher is about a book by the quality of the ARC and when they send it out, so i was excited when a really nice hardback with dust-jacket showed up, but goddamn i could not bring myself to give a fuck about this story.

i saw a fair number of commercials for a new hasselhoff album when i was in the western part of germany last spring. also heard justin bieber for the first time on a morning news program and 80s soft rock all over the place, which just proves MY theory: a lot of germans have shitty taste in music.
