that would be really sad, to see something like avatar be nominated and d9 not just cause they are in the sci-fi field even though one was really clever and brutal and smart and their characters made decisions that were consistent with decisions that they should/have to make, and the other was avatar.

Don't all "great" artists bitch and moan how no one appreciates their work?
Isn't that what all really good artists think? If they were able to see the successes and triumphs what would drive them to make the art that they do. Something about can't see the forest through the trees and all that.

i got more value outta my $15 in battlefield 1943 than anything else that cost me that much last summer, and that includes movies food and beer. (well maybe not beer, but battlefield + ice cold beer on a hot july day is pretty great…)
