I'm Transformers fan from way back and Furman was one of the more influential writers in my life (kind of unfortunate) and when mentioned this to one of the people who works at the comic store I go to, he practically forced More Than Meets the Eye on me. And at least the first volume is very good and much stronger

The AV Club comment section never seems to have great affection for Remender.

I think his Shield series with Dustin Weaver is finally going to be wrapped up. I loved the ending to the latest Secret Wars issue and I'm actually looking forward to reading his entire Marvel output at some point.

"Less women oppression and more American Gladiators thingy."

I enjoyed Lloyd and Laura's story a lot more than anything going on with Emily. I've always liked Emily as a supporting character but I'm just not connecting with her story the way I've with past Phonogram stories.

Or Godland.

It's been rough living with my government mandated husband Rick for these last several months, you know, with us not being attracted to each other than everything, but we're learning to live with it.

Yeah, he's the biracial son of South African apartheid…he'll crack.

Apparently Star Wars will never die…in all of its forms.

Right, Trump in a vacuum doesn't scare me all that much. He's kind of shown over time to not actually believe most of the things he says to get whatever kind of attention he believes is best for him. He's an amoral asshat of the highest order. The scary thing about him right now is that the Republican base is

Yeah, I keep seeing it at Gallery Place and just assumed they had one at AFI Silver (which I'm guessing is theater 1, which is an absurd theater to be in by yourself).

By making it such a noticeable aspect of every trailer, the implication is pretty strong.

Well, non-profitable idea, anyway.

And how can you be great if they can see it?

It's also an understood part of a larger story arc. There's actually a "previously" at the beginning. You might have issues with Hickman's writing and that's fair but treating Infinity as a stand alone story would also be ignoring how Marvel has treated its event comics for well over two decades.

Rick Remender did an AMA on reddit yesterday and didn't discuss Axis much, but didn't particularly enjoy how it turned out, to say the least.

I'm still not entirely sure what to make of Trees and I haven't been that motivated to go back and read the first volume again. There's this weird distance to Ellis' writing in it, like he thinks it's a good idea but he's not fully invested into what he's writing, almost like he's just trying to get the story idea

I must have missed that. Have you gotten into Injection yet?

There are definitely related parts and at least for me, I've gotten a lot of enjoyment from the shared aspect of Hickman's Marvel work. I also think outrage over a comment like that is kind of funny. It makes a little bit of sense on the surface, especially when you tout the old (I think Stan Lee) line "every comic

The problem Marvel always ran into is that every time they pitted Cyclops against the Avengers, Cyclops always came looking like the better option. The impression annoyance I have with All New X-Men is that Cyclops is always tall an lanky, since the beginning, that's an official character trait, but in his current
