I loved this episode.  It's been 2-3 years since I first saw this show and I haven't re-watched it since (except for the pilot once or twice trying to get other people hooked on it).  It's definitely a favorite.

Definitely.  The quick cut to the star field, then back to Simon flinching away from it, and then over to River looking to sublimely enchanted is one of the best bits of cinematography I've seen on television.

Yeah, I would never characterize the writing in Weeds as good, per se.  None of the characters actually do anything of their own accord, they just react (stupidly) to a series of increasingly outlandish events that the writers pull out their asses.

That's where I stopped.  It just seemed so conclusive,  with the theme song playing over the montage and everything.  Plus I had friends who had watched it for far longer and they warned me of the inanity of the later seasons.
