True, but all the stories Moriarty appeared in were printed after The Final Problem, so it was less "who is this man that Holmes must face?" and more "remember that guy?"
Although Valley of Fear is freaking amazing.  I'd watch the heck out of a tv show about Birdy Edwards and Ettie Shafter.

Oh yes please.  At the least, bring back a competent Irene Adler who's not romantically interested in Holmes at all.  It's frustrating that so many modern interpretations give her no personality beyond "sexy semi-villain here to sex up Holmes", especially since her original character was "intelligent woman who

I have to agree with the human puzzles being more fun.  I'm hoping Elementary takes a page from the Doyle stories, which often had less of a  "someone got murdered, who did it?" and more of a "someone hired me to copy a dictionary because I had red hair.  Why?"

There is a detective named Gregson in the original Doyle stories, he and Lestrade are the "the pick of a bad lot".  I thought having the detective character named after the less remembered of the two was a fun little touch.

I'll admit that I found Fight Fighters to be very disappointing, story-wise, so I was wondering about this week. Definitely a mistake on my part, this episode was wonderful.  Great humor, wonderful character moments and Thurop Van Orman continues to hit it out of the park as Lil' Gideon.
I do feel that the show seems

Kevin Henkes uses mice as the protagonists in all of his books as far as I know.

Yeah, that's pretty much the reason I found the whole "Dipper was actually the villain" twist to be so dissatisfying.  Perhaps it was just how I grew up (pretty much my whole class from kindergarten to high school had younger siblings), but a 15-year who called out a 12-year old would have instantly become the

While I do like Sherlock, if Elementary can distance itself from the "Sherlock Holmes is an autistic/sociopath/social incompetent/etc" trend we seem to be having, I'm already predisposed to liking it.  Also, having a Holmes and Watson that actually like each other would be nice.

"Okay, so how many of us didn't like the movie?  One, two, three… all.  So all of us didn't like the movie."

Aww, hearing that Miles O'Keffe liked the MST3K of Cave Dwellers makes me happy.  It's great when the actors have a sense of humor about the whole thing.  I've heard Beverly Garland was pretty amused about her turn on MST3K too.
