Psychoanalytically, you could argue neither really had a chance, even if they had a choice. But it is definitely too early to pigeonhole Elizabeth. Also, I love the Americans.

I don't think it will be much of a choice. I don't know if I see Treat sticking around. You know those Caffreys (or whatever their names are) and how they run.
James could just be a means to an end for Neal, whether he lives or dies. And if the former, he could pop up occasionally a la an Alex or Sara. Wouldn't that be a… Treat.
Hey oh!
I think it's true that it wasn't done overnight, but at least this was the episode where his comical gifts were acknowledged as singular but just not his own.
This is a very weird comparison, but Elizabeth on the Americans reminds me of a much deadlier, Russian spy version of Neal. They're both incredible con artists use their looks and sexuality to get what they need, but they're also both insecure and unsure of themselves and have daddy issues. Too weird?
Ah yes yes. Sometimes the small details elude me as I'm recapping. Thanks for the reminder.
Yeesh. OK OK, let's promote Diana then. All the same to me.
Wait, what's this about the backwards subtitles again?
That's a good point about Peter being boring if he's desk-bound. Then again, Neal's managed to fairly adventurous despite his anklet. Maybe Jones can get the gig?
This guy.
She was fairly terrible in this. Kind of shocking she's been on the entire run of CSI: Miami. Or is it? And how did I not even think to look into that, re: Pablo? (Also not a terrific performance.)
I know I'm a broken record, but I continue to be glad I don't see these previews.
In general, the show has been taking gentle satirical jabs at snobby high-low New Yorkery, a la the whiskey distilling. It's a nice little edge to it.
I think with this particular kind of intelligence, I just kind of zone out and play dumb.
This makes me no less confused.
It was more their features. Definitely not a joke about skinny white chicks. If anything, it's sort of embarrassing that I can even make that reference.
Well, I will say very few dramatic series hold up to multiple seasons, but you can tell the show continues to be a labor of love, which is hugely endearing.
I always like hearing your guys' perspective on the promos. The screeners I get never have them, so it's interesting to hear how they affect other peoples' experience with the episodes.
Yeah, this show is 100 percent shot in NYC. And as a Queens native, I should know this, but I do believe the globe is on the old World's Fair site. I do know we used to go to that museum on field trips, so I was particularly admiring of their choice to use it and how well they used it.
