Yes, although she did explain later that she was reeling from a breakup…. coming to the airport straight from it in fact… and acting out. Not that it's a great excuse, but they did at least address it. There was that one great ep where she and Hank co-wrote the song together. Sort of a shame that they didn't treat

I will agree they are an equal opportunity asshole factory, and you could argue that Lizzie's an empowered character. Again, I use that word rarely and carefully, and don't actually find the show offensive myself.

True. Sometimes it's just a bit overwhelming. Loved it in eps like the one with Tyler's parents where we get stronger female characters mixed in. Or even Trixie. I'm not generally super sensitive to it. More just ware of it sometimes more than others.

Good point about the bitch-slap. And I never throw around the M word, which is why I felt like it was saying something that I did this time. Although Karen and Becca seem even more long-suffering to me than usual, but I also held Becca in particular in really high regard in previous seasons.

I love the 3rd season!

I agree, frustrating. Might be easier to re-watch when we at least know when and where the validation arrives.

I would say blowjobs are more like milkshakes.

Touche.

Even while critiquing it every week, I still have a ton of fun watching this show, and low expectations. The combination generally leaves me feeling more than satisfied.

At a certain point, episodes are graded on a certain curve. From week to week, they start to live in their own critical bubble. Which is my way of saying to take the letters with a grain of salt, but also view them as relative to the grading pattern for this specific show over the season. I'd also say mine and

Vicki, did I say that?

I more or less agree with your take. And kind of like where its scheduled. Feels very nostalgic. Hopefully will find its audience, who will appreciate it.

It was a bit mean, aboynamedart, but it was also a fast and loose review. You're totally entitled to be taken aback, but it was more a testament to Brown than a serious cheap shot at Ali.

Well, there was the whole statutory rape thing…. But dating back to their early history, I think the insinuation's always been that at some point Hank got swallowed by L.A. and his success.

I don't think the Hank/Karen dynamic has worked for anyone but them. And not even them. More fun to watch a messy couple than a happy one though.

Yeah, the "This show's just above porn" argument's a bit old. Moreover, very odd to be so sensitive about Californication and then turn the conversation macho about football.

I like that approach.

He also would probably get an STD from Trixie.

Yeah, it's part of the problem with Karen's character being a bit hazy and random of late.

Phodreaw, even if it was just about man-children acting out, that could be perfectly entertaining in its own right, no?
