The Carrie thing has been very divisive. It's kind of interesting. Curious for anyone's thoughts on why that is or what it says about Hank.

I love Becca.
That's why this ep was a B for me. They saved some really strong dramatic material for the end, and had their broadest comedy ever somewhere in the middle, and there was no real balance. Although I did enjoy both its extremes as they were happening.
Totes. I mean, isn't that why we have "reality" TV?
Hell yeah, I'm easily entertained. Shouldn't I want to be entertained? TV doesn't need to be an intellectual exercise all the time, and it's a bummer if the emergence of quality cable drama has only meant we can't still enjoy good pulp entertainment in primetime. It also doesn't mean we can't still discuss whether a…
FYI, Vicki, I actually loathe Enlightened. Google the show and my name. Although suggesting I "heart" Enlightened because I didn't enjoy the Luck premiere is a bit presumptuous. My work's out there if you wanna get a sense of my point of view rather than guess.
Not sure about the whole gender-reversal thing, but I do think the Carrie character is the weakest part of this season.
It's still on the air because people watch it. Which, god bless America, isn't something anyone is mandated to do.
I'm all for folks having personal-fave eps and just enjoying the show in general. It just has a different, more appealing energy for me this season when RZA's around.
People in L.A., in entertainment, are actually like this.
ITS TV.
They use contemporary covers of classic Hollywood rock all the time. It's just part of the show's overall wiseassness.
So what you're saying is, Showtime should be reprimanded for trying to air snappy, entertaining comedies the night before we all go back to our miserable, plodding, humorless work weeks. To each their own, I guess.
The Luck premiere bored me to tears. Horse-racing bores me to tears. Jason Gedrick and an aging Dustin Hoffman huffing and puffing bore me to tears. But that's just me.
It was spot-on, but also a bit harsh and hypocritical. She was kind of a pathetic character.
I tell no lies. And Gary X, yes, the French one. I actually saw it in a weird screening where I was the only one in a Midtown Manhattan theater at noon on a weekday. I felt less than comforted when I walked out. Good times.
I wonder if he stole the booziness from Kathie and Hoda or the other way around. Yes, this is something I wonder.
Nothing will ever top the crazy-ass transformation scene in the office in The Howling.
I swear I don't want to sound like a snob, but I happened to see Them before Strangers came out, and the latter didn't goose me quite as much as the former. I wasn't a fan of House of the Devil either. I like good, psychological, visceral horror. Hellraiser is my favorite movie ever, if that tells you anything. And…
Thanks Gary. And I take no offense Ludwig. Besides, I'm a big fan. I do have to say though, that after reading Marah and Nathan's responses, I feel like I a pussy for not being more of a pussy. The snark and mean-spiritedness throughout pop culture, even down to the bowels of its bloggiest commentary, bums me out and…
