Not the writers, the creators.  A lot of them are making big bank and have spouses who stay home.

How?  The husband gets to present himself as whatever his career is and a father.  The wife gets to present herself as a mother and nothing.

The one positive thing I can say about this show is that appreciate that in the 2nd season, they made it clear that the mother had a job/career.  It's weird how many women in television upper middle class families are stay-at-home moms compared to reality, especially when their kids are older.

Seriously.  It's hard to imagine being a young gay teen struggling with your identity, dating a girl because you think that's what you're supposed to do, then having your father rape and kill her and tell you it's because you didn't have sex with her.  It's amazing he's not more screwed up.
