What does wrong show even mean?  The shows I watch are right for me. I never bothered with Alias because it was just a watered-down, network ripoff of LFN. I really, really tried to get into Mad Men but it just didn't hold my interest through the first season. I don't let hype dictate my viewing choices. If a show

"Ideally, there should be a little tension about whether this whole "I'm finally falling in love with you," deal is real or just an act to keep Phil under control."

"We're getting little nuggets of Elizabeth's past before Phillip's (and even flashbacks with both of them have focused more on Elizabeth's perspective) so there are certain things they must want us to understand about her."

I have to look past Philip's hair. It is awful hair. Now, Scott the Swedish spy from Episode 2 had awesome hair.

I think this episode revealed more of why Elizabeth is so cold and hardened, but I don't yet understand her unwavering loyalty to Mother Russia. It seems like she came up poor and rough and would be as seduced as Philip by the trappings of American suburbia.

Dear Lord in Heaven, Matthew Rhys is the sexiest man on television. Your girlfriend is absolutely right.

"I do wish, though, that the writing hadn't been so heavy-handed with the World War III stuff."

I think Dallas Roberts looks like the love child of John Ritter and Val Kilmer.

I was too scared to watch The Day After but I made the very BIG mistake of watching Threads on PBS. I don't think I slept for a week after that. 30 years later it's still probably the most brutal movie I've ever seen on television.

"They lost me as antiheros when Phillip strong armed the maid. The cold
blooded ruthlessness with which they coerced her to do their bidding
left me very cold."

Same with the Guess jeans that Elizabeth wore in the pilot episode.

The Americans takes place in 1981. The 80s music most people think of as '80s music' didn't start happening until a few years later. MTV may have debuted in 1981 but you could only watch it at your rich friends' houses that had cable and even then they played the same 10 videos over and over and over and over…

"I dunno, they were pretty ready to murder that innocent kid Grayson. Seems fairly villainous."

I could see Elizabeth taking Annalise out to do Philip a good turn for one-handedly snapping Timoshev's windpipe. And I think Elizabeth is more jealous than she lets on.

Not perfect: "SEK-reh-tree of Defense."

I was the same age as daughter Paige in 1981 and I can tell you that the women's clothes and hair on The Americans are all wrong. Wrong to the point of distracting me from the story. And why was Elizabeth already in bed watching Walter Cronkite? He came on at 6:30 after the local news when most people were still

"It’s as if the whole season went from a grand Guignol piece, skipped over to a weird workplace drama, made a stop in soap opera town, then landed in an art film. And I’m not sure that evolution makes any sense."

I wish Apatow World was real where there's no such thing as a recession and I could have someone better looking than me actually be me.

I am not being the least bit snarky when I say that I adore Duncan Trussell. He is a beautiful soul. My favorite Joe Rogan podcasts are when Duncan Trussell is the guest. I could listen to those two all day. Trussell just knows so much…STUFF! I am so glad the cancer was caught in time. After the horror on Friday, I
