You can argue the quality and the worth of Atlas Shrugged forever, but the simple fact is that the overwhelming majority of the Tea Partiers who are insisting we "Go Galt" have never and will never read this book.

I work in a bookstore, and one day a woman buying a copy of Atlas Shrugged asked how to pronounce Rand's first name. Was it 'Ann?' Or was it 'Ayyyn?' (Big 'Y' sound.)

Christ, what a terrible piece of writing.

Hicks in is the top 5 standups of all time… in my opinion. And that's what we're talking about, after all - opinions. So enough with all the "He's not funny and his fans are idiots" and his "He's brilliant and his detractors are idiots" posts. If you like his stuff, listen to it. If you don't, don't.

Yeah, I don't like Pauline Kael so that means I love Michael Bay. With that kind of logic it's no wonder you think Kael was right on the money.

I know she's got this rep as a great film critic, but go back and look at her reviews - Pauline Kael was wrong, like, 90% of the time. And she was a smug twat about being wrong. Being able to craft a decent sentence doesn't make you a great critic.

"I've never heard any Hicks material, but is he one of those dudes who just gets applause instead of laughs? 'Cause that's not comedy."

Um… someone in the trailer says "I can't believe this is happening again." So (a) I think that counts and (b) your short-term memory is for shit.

Well, as long as we're talking about stuff we hate…

There was a great quote from Bobcat Goldthwaite (no, really - stay with me) about appearing in shitty movies. Something he knows a little about. This was around the time he was taking shit for doing those Police Academy sequels and Hot to Trot.

There's always 'Marcel's Quantum Kitchen.'

Wolfman - You watched H.O.T.S.? Nice! It's probably the most entertaining bad 70's drive-in skin flick. Lots of boobs, a bear in a hot air balloon (God, am I remembering that right?) and Danny Bonaduce singing and beating up transvestite hookers!

And makes no sense.

Wow. I saw this show in LA and I've gotta say that not only is this review terribly written (don't you guys check your own work before posting?) it's also completely wrong. Is Simon Leonard Pierce in disguise?

I believe Gail's also benefitted from dropping a few pounds this season. She was looking like she'd put on some marriage weight there for a while.

With the spikey hair and the cockeyed frown/grimace Richard looks like a comic strip character from the 1920's. 'The Manic-Depressive Kid' or something.

Both "Thing"s are classics.

Blade Runner and The Thing came out the same day? Tough choice at the multiplex.

Is The Motherfucking Shore Patrol actually Gallagher 2?

I remember seeing Gallagher on the Tonight Show in the late-70's (Yeah. Old. Fuck you.) when Chevy Chase was the guest and Carson obviously still hosting. Gallagher seemed furious that Chase was given the first guest spot, and that this hip young comic (remember - late-70's) had hit it big on TV and movies. It was
