it's a crossover hit! they're telling human stories in a fantasy setting!

THIS IS AMAZING. HOLY SHIT.
Even the marketing seems in on the joke. Very few direct nods to how freaky the creatures are, and Spielberg's name is on the posters a HELL of a lot more than Joe Dante's. Obviously Dante wasn't a big name at the time, but it seems very sneakily deliberate.
Gremlins. HOLY FUCK Gremlins. (The first, mind you - though I suppose the second qualifies). starts off as "ET at Christmas" and then gets so amazing- I love how I can talk to any of my friends, and each of them will say they had a different specific moment that traumatized them most as a kid. What a film.
Birdemic.
I had seen all of it a while back and am going back through it with my girlfriend (also on season 2) and I feel like I'm giving it as much credit as I can, haha (though it's certainly miles better than Diff'rent Strokes, what we were irony-watching beforehand).
Holy shit. I can see one writers-strike-shortened first season but not much beyond that. Even if it was in real time you've only got 9 episodes or so.
Not to completely derail things (while still totally derailing things), but this has been plaguing me for a couple of days. What season of Alf do Alf fans generally agree is the best one? with Community it generally seems to be S2, Parks S3, Cheers S2 (extremely debatable there), but Alf is so low-quality and…
She's honestly the only reason I'm thinking about watching this episode.
Going by Todd's twitter, Community tonight is going to be an unmitigated disaster. Uh oh.

I'm not a simpsons fan by any means (I do like a few episodes (this is one of the big ones I like) but by and large I have a tough time getting into it) but I do think the legacy and fall from grace are really interesting, and I was wondering if I could have this cleared up for me - where did the term "Jerk-Ass Homer"…
it was pretty hopelessly dated when it aired. BIZARRE amount of memes in that season now that I'm thinking about it, it's definitely when they started getting REALLY lazy
I acquired it perfectly legally* and wow, what an episode. hard to put into my top 5 because it's SO off-model, but it would certainly make the top 10. I love how brazen this show is about experimenting with format, it really feels like they're given free reign to do whatever they want at this point.
My PVR recorded The Simpsons instead.
I wonder if the Regional Holiday Music gang still watches movies, we should do this piece of shit
I remember I saw this movie at a preview screening actually, I would have been 10 or 11. I barely remember anything beyond the snake pants bit, this whole plot sounds alien to me.
this is weird.
I thought it was Paul Rudd for a second.
SIIIIIMS?
