I must be watching Community wrong because apart from the wishing well sequence feeling a bit off that felt pretty earnestly Community to me. (though much as I adore Community, Parks is my first love and I'm sure I would have caught EVERY off-note if someone took over for Schur)

JUST got this notification now. Bizarre.

JUST got this notification now. Bizarre.

Shit I MUST have a MWOF of THAT.

I missed the beard thing, which is too bad because I think it would have been really funny. Can I have a notification next time an avatar meme comes up?

According to early reviews (Todd's twitter), New Community is jarringly soulless & the emotional beats are way off. I'm relieved that they replicated the old show! (to clarify, I love the show, but I didn't think it ever knew how to earn an emotional moment. It excels at self-commentary, not sincerity.)

That's like blaming them for creating ginger hate groups. Idiots will pull what idiots pull from media, not necessarily what's actually there.

I must know more about this.

Bob's Burgers does a pretty good job, but I might not understand the argument. I'm tired.

because of course it is.

it's not a great example, because it's kind of easy-mode comtemplative scifi, but people gobbled up Inception and The Matrix, and those definitely call for paying attention and thinking to be fully engaged. People are, as a whole, pretty smart.

TEAM FUCKING AMERICA.

Yeah, they really don't like using the word parody/or spoof. They're send-ups/homages but they're also (as @avclub-85d8ce590ad8981ca2c8286f79f59954:disqus notes) fully functional as legitimate genre pieces. If anything, Shaun is closer to parodying romantic comedies than it is zombie films, and that's extremely

For a fun (tragic) point of reference, Shaun of the Dead clocks in at around that much, and Moon was only $400,000. I'm willing to bet it was just some FANCY-ASS CATERING.

Brilliant.

Brilliant.

@avclub-c255c05246a081654a0267cbb725f5a7:disqus you're close! if they say no, he DOESN'T record it, but performs it live. There have been a few bouts of confusion more recently (Perform This Way and You're Pitiful) where he's recorded them because he misunderstood a no or the artist said yes but label said no (most

And lo, Steve Jobs lay with the frog, and his AIDS was no more!

Does it look like they're clumsily building towards a reunion, or do they appear genuinely willing to throw Andy pathos away? Sorry to pry, I just have no intention of going back to this show, haha.
