I watched that Secret State miniseries when it aired in the UK. It's very, very dull.
It would be kind of hard for his character to come back. Even if you ignore the bit where he jumped off that building, there's the whole "was actually a mass-murdering identity thief terrorist who tried to sell state secrets to the Chinese" thing.

Roberson has talked about getting back the rights and doing the series elsewhere (like Paul Cornell is planning with Saucer Country), but apparently it's tricky and can't be done for several years. I'm not sure how the TV deal would affect this.
