Coincidentally, I just read Batman: Snow, a retelling of Freeze's origin, today. Nice art by Seth Fisher (as expected), but the story by JH Williams III and Dan Curtis Johnson isn't great.

It took me ages to realize his full name is "Denholm Reynholm."

Yeah, IIRC he did the show as a favour to Linehan. Outside of Ayoade's work on Darkplace, he was pretty much the only actor people knew at the time (unless they, for some reason, were fans of mediocre Irish medical drama The Clinic, the first season of which starred O'Dowd).

I know a lot of people like Denholm, but I agree that he's one of the weaker parts of the early episodes. The scene where they wrote him out is a favourite though, and is what got me back into the show after quitting 2-3 episodes in.

Spiral is great, especally seasons 3 and 4. Very glad it's been renewed for another two seasons.

Well, they continued with Barkeep having his cosmic power. And Felton seems to be a regular now, which is good.

I think they were hoping spinning it out of Spider-Man would work. Clearly they were wrong.
