I thought the whole bit, with the punch line of cancelling his reservations, was genius: cross-promotion as anti-cross-promotion. Besides, Michael is precisely the kind of guy who would make some anonymous desk clerk scramble to confirm a reservation just so he could cancel it— and feel utterly guiltless and justified.
