I've tried to get on board with the Apple Sisters three or four times now because I think those folks at Earwolf have a good thing going but those gals just keep striking out for me. The key word in this week's write up is "predictably". I feel like I've heard all their jokes before and see the punchlines coming from

GIRL ON GUY
I tried the first ep of this after recognising Tyler from when she guested on Carolla's show and seeing that ubertalented Jon Benjamin was the GUY she was ON I figured I was in for a treat.

THE EARWOLF CHALLENGE
Totally Laime seem to get the hype from Besser but Bob & Dan and the Left Handed Radio crew have my votes.

Damn, I must have blocked out the evidence of Maron being a dick. He sounded like a good dude to me.

Pshh, they're just pretenders.

@Anonymous37 - I know Cross knows Aukerman very well but I was genuinely not sure if he had picked up on it at that stage. He either really hadn't clicked yet or he's just a really good actor.

That's what Irish girls look like Chumps. And if you thought the scene in the diner was typical Hollywood shit you must have slept through it.

Why did I call the film "The Guard's"?

In Bruges is great - one of my top 10 comedies of the 21st century so far - but for me The Guard's doesn't just have more heart, it's also oddly darker, it's funnier and holds its tone perfectly across a greater range of humour (from Silverman-esque, punchy faux-racism to Guest-esque gentle parody), it's beautifully

@Anonymous 37 - It turns out the kind of imbecile which would make that assumption is a very suave and handsome one with impeccable taste in everything.

Toasterlad's right.

Not just best female character but one of the top three characters of ANY and ALL genders on CBB.

Hmmm, some very nice suggestions you guys, but Who Charted? is the funniest in the world. Second is Jordan Jesse Go.

Why would you start a new thread for this when there was already one happening up the page Stgmfan? Why would you do that to us?

I've heard the Sklars on The Wolf Den talk of their love for Cox's ability to not just do impressions but to also roll with the improv in character.

You have some pretty good taste there HB, although as much as I love Proops I haven't been able to get on board with his podcast. Too much of a good thing maybe.

The LM Game is double edged sword for Doug in that it's good for hooking listeners who're desperate for movie-talk first and foremost and it also gives him a fallback just in case the guests aren't really bringing it banter-wise, but then when the best banterrific guests like TJ Miller, PFT, Pardo etc are on form the

@ Toasterlad - "It's fine if he wants to do his therapy on air, but it doesn't seem to be working. He never acknowledges being a dick without accusing the other person of being just as big a dick."
