I actually didn't get into Bruce until I saw that HBO concert that became the Live in New York City album. I knew the radio stuff - Dancing in the Dark, Born in the USA, Brilliant Disguise, etc - but when I watched that HBO show I was like, "whoa, this is really good." Bruce and the E Street Band are the only band

Yep, and I think Jon Landau (Springsteen's manager) told him to keep it for himself. Ended up being Bruce's first top 10 hit.

Me too! Plus, it had Footsteps!

I watched part of one, where a girl met Rob Thomas (of Matchbox 20 at the time). I think she said she bought a dozen copies of Yourself or Someone Like You to give out to her friends.

I don't really feel any shame for liking Billy Joel - he has written some great pop songs. My favorites are probably Pressure, I Go to Extremes, All For Leyna, The Night is Still Young, This is the Time, Sometimes A Fantasy, and Uptown Girl.
I don't like Just the Way You Are - always seemed to me it was lame - so I

I have to thank Chuck Klosterman, whose essay on Billy Joel in Sex, Drugs and Cocoa Puffs got me to check out that album. Several great deep cuts on there - Sleeping With the Television On, All For Leyna, I Don't Want to Be Alone Anymore, etc.

I read an interview with Kelly Clarkson, where she said she hated 'A Moment Like This', and would never sing it again unless someone was on their deathbed.

"Hey Carl, can I have give me your celery?"
"No, I need it for fiber. I have problems!"

I noticed that between the first two Mooninite episodes and future ones, Ignignok's rectangle mouth got smaller, and for some reason, I thought it made him less funny.

Come here Randall….and pay your half of the utilities!

Foo Fighters haven't done anything since their first 3 albums that has interested me (except for 'All My Life' and maybe 'Times Like These'), but I've always enjoyed their sense of humor, and Dave seems like a genuinely nice dude. They're also an excellent live band, I saw them back when they toured for The Colour and

Yeah, I'm really glad I got to see Clarence a few times, and once with Danny Federici.

The title track is my favorite, even though I like the lyrics on 'Jungleland' more. But really, BTR is one of the rare albums that, IMO, doesn't have a single bad song on it.

I've seen Springsteen and the E Street Band a few times, the second time was in Omaha in 2008. In the encore, Bruce mentioned he saw a sign for "Jungleland" and the crowd cheered. "The people have spoken!" he said, and played it. I was stunned, never thought I'd get to hear it live.

I actually got into the Mountain Goats because they scheduled a show here in town. I had heard of them, so I asked some people, should I check out his music and should I go, and they all said YES. So I got 'All Hail West Texas' and enjoyed it, so I went to the show. Man, it was better than I expected. Darnielle looked

What about 'Be My Baby' by The Ronettes? Boom. Boom-Boom, bap. Has that been sampled or just imitated a lot on songs like The Jesus and Mary Chain's 'Just Like Honey'?

I was just gonna say, when they mentioned 'The Big Beat', first thing that popped into my mind was that Dizzee Rascal song.

That vocal sample is from The Frogs' "I Don't Care if You Disrespect Me (Just So You Love Me)". A lot of their songs are hilarious and very NSFW, I was listening to one of their albums and came upon that song. It's always a nice surprise when you hear a song that gets sampled from a song you already know and you go,

"Midnight" by Ice-T as well.

"Next time it could be all chickey-rickey doo!"
