Forgive-me-now: an Icelandic apology circle.

Can you imagine if Ron was made to watch this Veep at work? He would pop a blood vessel.

I wonder if he would even realize it, if he got voted out of a four-person housing situation.

Thank you for your service.

That first season was great. The show had a great Lois, an interesting take on Clark (smart—actually geeky rather than pretending to be, but with Dean Cain muscles), and, as you say, a good Luthor (who quickly bailed). The romance was actually pretty exciting. [The show got a little schlocky in later seasons.]

I would have bet good money that Selina was going to vomit. It was set up pretty well with the dry-swallowed pill and the foreshadowy-sounding dialogue. (I guess once I got it in my head, everything sounded like further evidence.) I was even sure she would hurl on top of her daughter, in such a way that Catherine

A lesser show would have had the husband charm the reporter or something along those lines—maybe blackmail her with evidence of their own trysts (reporter and VP's ex)—but instead we get the daughter as the smoothest of the three. Nice. Fitting if she ends up in politics despite hating the soul-selling at this point

Ah, so that's what that was. It was clear there was subtext but I didn't really catch on. (Thank you for explaining.)

And, physically, her producer dude was mildly in the Danny Concannon template (with some Joss Whedon mixed in there, too).

You're the hot mess!

So did we just witness the daughter, Catherine, playing ball, by dumping the boyfriend for real on the air? Did this sudden (and evitable) non-betrayal of her mother arise from a feeling of pity that the interview was going so badly?

We'll see.

I'm glad the episode ended on a positive note, because I was losing patience with "Everything goes badly for Selina." The occasional win allows for suspense in the future, even if the cringe factor will always be the main course.

Ah, I heard that as "get you something," meaning a little brother.

It's sort of a family show, in the style of "Terra Nova" but not as bad (one dad, three sons), so by watching on Mute you are actually sparing yourself a lot of whining.

And they could do a Wonder-Twins "Activate!" with the stumps.
